Better late than never!

We missed last week’s notes, so we’re giving the Bree Electrical Services competition its own moment in the spotlight.

It was a tightly fought affair, with three players finishing on 39 points and the honours decided by countback.

Three players separated only by the finer details of the scorecard. Congratulations to Darren on taking the honours, and to David and Gareth on excellent rounds.

A Tale of Two Courses…

Going back to last week’s Bree Electrical competition, we also had the pleasure of hosting Knightsbrook Golf Club as part of a great tee-swap initiative.

The Knightsbrook golfers returned a winning score of 35 points at Concra.

Meanwhile, your humble correspondent had a front-row seat at Knightsbrook to watch Dessie Woods put together a magnificent 43 points.

We’ll leave you to draw your own conclusions.

A big thank you to everyone involved in the tee swap with Knightsbrook. It was a fantastic initiative and hopefully one we can repeat.

Coogan Carriers Competition

The good scoring continued at Concra Wood this weekend, with David Eakin producing an excellent 43 points to take the Coogan Carriers sponsored competition.

David Eakin – 43 pts

James Kiernan – 42 pts

Gavin Corrigan – 39 pts

David’s 43pts off a single figure handicap is superb golf. And it needed to be superb golf to hold off James Kiernan.

James continues to make a serious case that summer isn’t quite finished yet, adding another excellent round to what has been a very rich vein of form. This was his second competitive under-par round in a matter of weeks, and he looks to be enjoying himself with the short stick.

Michelle came through a thrilling final against veteran campaigner Alice Duffy, who put up a fantastic performance throughout the competition.

Golfer of the Year

The Ladies’ Golfer of the Year race is also heading towards its conclusion, with just two counting weeks remaining.

Julie-Ann Lacey currently leads on 82 points, with Dorren Quinn chasing on 66.
